![]() What is my training and experience in homeopathy and in nutrition? In 1998, I sought out what I considered the best training I could have as professional homeopath. I entered Louis Kleins Master Homeopathic Clinician Program and graduated, with diploma, two years later. Louis Klein is a world reknown homeopath, remarkable for his success with so-called incurable health disturbances. My course work for his program included 550 classroom hours geared towards development of advanced prescribing and clinical skills. I was awarded a diploma for demonstrating competence in advanced homeopathic practice through analytical thesis and presentation of cured cases. Diplomates of this program are called Master Homeopathic Clinicians. Over the years, as my own training and experience has grown, so has my practice. I have recently moved my practice and family from Taos, New Mexico, to Mt. Shasta City, California. I am fortunate to be able to incorporate the healing energy of the mountain into my practice. Homeopathy is a healing art and science which has met with much opposition from the American Medical Association in this country. In fact, the AMA was orginally formed to oppose the doctors who chose to use homeopathic treatments. Because homeopathic medicines are not harmful, even when poorly chosen by inexperienced or untrained practitioners, it is not a field which the government has felt obligated to regulate. After decades of personal study and observation I realized that, as powerful as homeopathy is, diet and effects of poor nutrition are often obstacles to cure. I wanted to offer nutritional therapy and specific support for the patient who needs to make diet changes. I began formal training in nutritional sciences in 2001 and graduated two years later from the American Health Science University Certified Nutrition Program and passed the national certification exam. I am now a licensed Certified Nutritionist. I am prepared to work with other medical professionals in designing and monitoring a nutritional program that addresses serious health issues. Other experience which has contributed to my practice of the healing arts and sciences include life experience
If you have been referred by your physician for nutritional therapy, please bring diagnostic test results. Pack your medications and supplements in a bag and bring them. Plan to spend an hour or so with me as I pull together the information I need from you to analyse your nutritional needs. I may recommend additional testing, but most often not. I schedule time after your appointment to analyze your case and develop a therapy plan. Depending on circumstances and the complexity of the case, I will either phone, mail, or meet with you again to go over details and answer questions. I am always available to my clients for phone questions and brief follow-up's. Some things I do for my clients....
Nutritional Therapy Plan A properly designed Nutritional Therapy Plan:
How nutrition and homeopathy work together. Homeopathy is an energetic medicine as well as a physical medicine. Homeopathic treatment operates at energetic and mental levels, from which life and body are created, and it can offer a truly miraculous healing, regardless of lifestyle or diet. The way you eat and your nutritional state affect you first at a physical level, and then later at other levels. So the two togetherhomeopathy and nutritionoperate from two different and complementary directions. Homeopathic treament and nutritional therapy are supportive of each other. Homeopathic treatment can make it easier to break food addictions and lifestyle patterns which have bad effects on your nutritional status. And proper dietaside from its health benefitsmakes it easier for you to recognize and for me to evaluate the effectiveness of your homeopathic remedy. I've noticed that there are some folks out there who seem to eat anything they want and do just fine. For others, healing involves a progressive cleaning up of their act. In my experience as a homeopath, it appears that poor diet and deficient nutrition are often obstacles to cure of life-threatening and chronic illnesses. So, I always ask some basic questions about my clients' diets. If I notice anything out of whack I'll say something, whether you've asked for a nutritional consult or not. If you are suffering from a chronic problem which is not life-threatening, consider making an appointment for homeopathic treatment alone. If I suspect that diet habits are contributing to your problem I will say so and suggest some diet changes. If that doesn't help, and you are willing, we can add nutritional therapy later. If you are considering homeopathy as preventative medicine and you already have a good grip on your diet, schedule homeopathic treatment alone. If you are dealing with life-threatening illness, schedule a nutritional consult first, and then a constitutional homeopathic consult a few weeks later. There will be a break in fee if you make both appointments at the same time. It is possible for me to schedule a longer appointment and consult you in both areas at one. But if you are taking regular medications, we'll want to clean your system up a bit before giving the homeopathic remedy. If your doctor or other healthcare practioner has referred you for nutrtional counseling, you can schedule an appointment for a nutritional consult only.
